Privacy Policy
The Storytellers Council

Effective date: September 1, 2025
Controller: Amanda Miller, doing business as “The Storytellers Council.”
Contact: amanda@thestorytellerscouncil.com

1. Scope

This policy covers personal information processed through storytellerscouncil websites and pages that link to it (the “Site”). Right now, the Site is informational and includes a contact form; there are no user accounts and no analytics/advertising trackers enabled.

2. What we collect

  • Contact form data: your name, email, and anything you write to us.

  • Basic technical logs: IP address, user‑agent, timestamps, and similar diagnostics automatically captured by our hosting provider to keep the Site secure and reliable. We don’t attempt to identify you from logs.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of data and we do not knowingly collect data from children (see §8).

3. Why we use data

  • Respond to messages
  • Operate, secure, and debug the Site (fraud/abuse detection, incident response).

We don’t profile individuals, make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, or run targeted advertising.

4. Sharing

We share personal information only with service providers acting on our instructions (e.g., web hosting - GoDaddy, email - Microsoft). They may use the data only to provide their services to us. We do not sell personal data and do not exchange it for targeted advertising.

5. Cookies & tracking

We use only strictly necessary cookies (if any) required to operate the Site. No analytics or advertising cookies are set at this time.

6. Retention

  • Contact messages: retained up to 12 months (so we can respond and keep records), then deleted.
  • Server logs: typically retained by our host for 7 days and then deleted/overwritten.

We may keep information longer if required by law, to resolve disputes, or to protect our rights.

7. Your choices and requests

If you’ve contacted us, you can email amanda@thestorytellerscouncil.com to request access, correction, or deletion of the information you provided. If you prefer not to share personal information, please don’t submit the contact form.

8. Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

9. Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we handle and require similar protections from our service providers.

10. Changes to this policy

We’ll post updates on this page and revise the Effective date above. If changes materially affect your rights, we’ll provide additional notice via the Site or email if we have it.

13. Severability; waiver; assignment

If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision isn’t a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
